Downtown Trick-or-Treat is fast approaching. Just to clear some things up, this years event will be on Saturday, October 31st, from 3pm to 5pm. Bring the whole family decked out in costume, and bring home some free candy. See you there! Volunteers are still needed  as crossing guards. Please contact the DWWF office if you are interested. Costumes are welcome.

 

Walla Walla - Foodie Hot Spot?

When you think of amazing food destinations, what comes to mind? Bangkok, Buenos Aries, London, and Walla Walla? It's true! Travel site away.com posted an article, "Top Ten Foodie Destinations," and Walla Walla is number 7 on that list! Downtown locations mentioned include Salumiere Cesario, Colville Street Patisserie, Waterbrook Winery (now Walla Walla Wine Works), and the late, great Luscious by Nature. The volunteers and staff of the DWWF have multiple projects in various stages, and committees and taskforces meet regularly to make sure things are getting done.

3rd Wednesday - Organization Committee

4th Thursday - Retail Merchants Taskforce

 


The Parking Taskforce, subcommittees and chairs are meeting every week as they prepare for a detailed study of downtown parking issues and possible solutions.

The State Main Street program is requesting nominations for the "Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards," due January 25th, 2010.  If you know of a nomination-worthy downtown project, please contact Jennifer at the office or by email (jennifer@downtownwallawalla.com) Previous winning projects include the restoration of the Pantorium Building at Rose & 2nd (Jim & Brenda Harold), the Liberty Theater renovation, and the information kiosk at Heritage Park.
