Walla Walla Wine Works- 31 East Main, Sat & Sun-Feb 13-14th, Valentines Party- Enjoy a wine pairing with chocolates from Petits Noirs!  Also enjoy the release of 3 new sparkling wines for free this weekend! Saturday, Pete Crawford will perform and Chef Ceil Blaine has created some decadent desserts!

DWWF February 11 Newsletter

Last Friday's Julia Child's cookoff was delicious! Special thanks go to the 6 chefs (Jamie Guerin, Whitehouse Crawford; Bear Ullmann, The Marc; Gene Soto, Someone's in the Kitchen; Damon Burke, Salumiere Cesario; Michael Kline, Walla Walla Bread Co.;and Noah Vianvant, Brasserie Four) who took time out from their busy schedules on a Friday evening to be our judges in the Julia Childs Beouf Bourguignon Contest!  A special thanks to Lifestyles magazine & Robin Hamilton- for the concept & covering a large part of the expenses which contributed to the $850 donation to the Providence St. Mary Medical Patient Care fund for Cancer patients.

Downtown Events:

Julia Child Cook-Off Contest
- Thank you to all of the contestants, judges, Someone's in the Kitchen (host & fabulous food!), Sapolil Cellars (incredible wine donation), Book & Game Co. (ticket sales, prize donor, & dresser for Julia), Holly's Flowers (awesome bouquet donation!) & of course, Topher Murphy (Julia).  The DWWF & Lifestyles Magazine were so pleased with the response, allowing a generous donation to the Providence St. Mary Medical Center Patient Care.   We received copies of the recipes from many of the contestants & if you would like a copy, please email the DWWF office, info@downtownwallawalla.com  or call 529-8755.


 

Open Mic @ Walla Walla Village Winery 107 S. 3rd, Thursday nights 7-10 pm. Hosted by Blue Mt. Spanish Sound. Come in for some great wine and fun. Also, ask for the new CD Platinum Moon.  Play what's in your heart! Sign ups by phone okay!  Call 876-1444 after 4pm.


Live @ Sapolil
Friday, Feb 12th, 8-11pm, Dr. Mark Brown & Gary Romjue -Dr. Brown plays pure magic on the keybowrds, throws in a little trumpet, blues harp & vocals. Of course, our very own Jennifer Northam will be singing some sweet tunes as well. The Good Doctor is joined by Gary Romjue of Seattle who brings to town his guitar & outstanding electric blue fiddle. $5 Cover.   New!  Every Friday, Piano Bar Happy Hours,4-7pm,  enjoy Carolyn Mildenberger tickling the ivories of Sapolil's grand piano. 


 

Stephenson Cellars- 15 S Spokane, Sat, Feb 13th, Sip wine while listening to Jon Cotts perform acoustic folk, Roots Blues, originals & covers by James McMurtry, Robert Earl Keen to name a few. .  7-10pm, No Cover charge.

 

Walla Faces Wine Tasting Room - 216 E Main St.  Sat, Feb. 13th- Meet with Shirley Scott, Clairvoyant, and start the New Year 'in the know having the confidence to live a happier, healthier, wealthier life in alignment with you own plan.  Call 301-1181 for reservations or come by and visit on of downtown's newest tasting rooms.

Willow- 2 East Rose Street, Thursday, Feb. 11th , Artists' reception + Art Talks 5-8pm. will have a special event for the new exhibit "Saving daylight + Beauty is a Rare  Thing= Jim German + Claire Johnston" .  The exhibit will run Feb 11th - March 29th.

 

Walla Walla Symphony- Tickets on sale for "Sweet Land of Liberty" on Tuesday, Feb. 16th, 7:30pm with Guest conductor Dr. Richard Simon, Jr.. For more information go to www.wwsymphony.org

 

Salumiere Cesario -20 N. 2nd Avenue, Salumiere Cesario, Walla Walla's Gourmet Grocery, is doing something a little different for the month of February.  February, most celebrated as the month of Valentine's Day, will also be a month of giving for the downtown gourmet market.
