Please join legendary actor Tom Skerritt (Top Gun, Alien) for an evening of inspiration and readings by writers and local veterans.
Tom Skerritt is the co-founder — along with retired Army Captain Evan Bailey — of The Red Badge Project, a non-profit through which veterans coping with PTSD and TBIs learn the skills needed for five-star storytelling.
Skerritt and two founding faculty members — Shawn Wong, and Warren Etheredge — share some of their trade secrets with you and introduce you to a handful of veterans who will share their stories on stage. Mr. Etheredge — who will serve as the event’s emcee — is also the co-founder and curator of Walla Walla Movie Crush that will take place on July 1 and 2, also at the Power House Theatre.
For over five years, The Red Badge Project has been helping veterans express themselves in order to conquer their demons. You can help the cause by buying tickets and being there to hear stories — all proceeds benefit The Red Badge Project, to ensure that the stories told by the men and women of national service are held, healing, and heard.
Reserved tickets are $25 and are available online or by calling the box office at (509) 529-6500.
All proceeds benefit the Red Badge Project.
The Red Badge Project helps veterans tell their unique truths through storytelling. The Walla Walla Public Library is the only library in the nation chosen to participate in the Red Badge Project. For more information, go to theredbadgeproject.org or call Library Director Beth Hudson at 509-524-4433.
The Walla Walla Public Library strives to be an important member of our community and provide library service for everyone so we have been host to the Red Badge Project since 2014.
