This is the museum's first big outdoor event of the season! Join them for a family-oriented, two-day event commemorating Walla Walla Valley regional heritage with historic reenactors, live demonstrations, children’s pioneer games, and more.
A number of historic reenactors will be occupying encampments around the Museum grounds. Visitors may see fur traders; Spanish-American War, Civil War, and Buffalo soldiers; old west cowboys; gold-rush miners; Lewis and Clark-era explorers; blacksmiths; and early Walla Walla pioneers. There will be a 19th-century chuck wagon and funeral wagon on display! Visitors are invited to meet and interact with the interpreters and their displays to see what life was like in the past.
Mr. Fred Stine, an early blacksmith and builder, will offer a food preservation demo. William McBean, HBC Chief Factor, will bring his trade goods for bartering. William Hurst Rockfellow, wagonmaster and gold miner, will be ready to talk about his claim at the Virtue Mine in Idaho.
