Cathy treasures her heritage in the Walla Walla Valley, rooted in her family’s multi-generational farm and community contributions. She graduated from Washington State University with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness. As the Executive Director of the Walla Walla Watershed Alliance and partnership organizations from 2002-2013, Cathy was instrumental in coordinating efforts among stakeholders groups to arrive at a nationally recognized approach to water management. She has also been the Business Manager for an agricultural association, Deputy District Director for a member of Congress, and Senior Accountant for a local accounting firm.
Cathy serves on the Touchet School Board and is a member of the SEATech Skills Center General Advisory Committee. She is active in the Mill Creek Coalition and volunteers with the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling and attending sporting events with her family.
John Sasser — Owner, Integrity Design & Copyworks
Brian joined Anderson Perry as a Project Engineer in 2017. He works on a variety of site civil and utility projects. He studied at the University of Idaho where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons and is an avid golfer. Brian is a native of Walla Walla, and is excited to be involved in the community where he grew up.
Kathleen Murray — President, Whitman College.
John was born and raised in Walla Walla and grew up in a family owned business. He worked for three years at a local design and print firm before heading to Whitman College for 14 years as the College’s Production Services Manager, and outsource print buyer.
Along with his wife Cher, founded Integrity Design and Copyworks in late 2002. They saw a need in the community for a place where businesses could go to get great design, and printing at a fair price. A few years into business Integrity Design expanded into the sign business to better serve their client needs. Today they have four full-time employees at their downtown Walla Walla shop. John has been married for 34 years, has two grown children and five granddaughters.
David Grossman — Attorney, Minnick Hayner
Kathleen Murray is the 14th president of Whitman College. Previously she was provost and dean of the faculty at Macalester College, where she led the academic program of one of America's finest liberal arts colleges, planned a new $70 million fine arts center and played a vital role in the development of Macalester’s strategic plan. Before Macalester, she was provost at Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama for three years.
President Murray received her Bachelor of Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1979, then obtained her Master of Music in piano performance from Bowling Green State University in 1982 and her Doctor of Music in piano performance and pedagogy from Northwestern University in 1989. Over the course of nineteen years, she was a member of the piano faculty, dean of the Conservatory of Music and dean of the faculty at Lawrence University in Wisconsin. A frequent performer, she is also a clinician and adjudicator both nationally and internationally, as well as the author of numerous articles on music and music education. She is recorded on the CRI label.
Dr. Murray is a passionate advocate of the liberal arts and the residential learning experience. She firmly believes that her undergraduate years in such a setting developed her potential as a scholar and artist, laying the foundation for her rewarding career and life.
As president of Whitman College, Kathy looks forward to close connections with the entire community. She loves to travel when she has the opportunity and recalls a hike up Mount Kilimanjaro as being one of her high points, literally and figuratively.
Jannelle Bruns — Owner, Book & Game
David is an attorney with the law firm Minnick-Hayner, where he focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation, tax controversy and guardianship matters. He has practiced law for 32 years in Washington, D.C., Seattle and now Walla Walla.
David moved to Walla Walla in 2002 from the Seattle area. In the time he has lived here, David has witnessed the resurgence of the downtown area and the emergence of Walla Walla a noted tourist destination. The things that brought David to Walla Walla in the first place – a smaller city with a strong sense of community, and a great place to raise kids – remain one of the most attractive aspects of this community.
Dave Anderson — Associate Broker, Williams Team Homes
Jannelle was born and raised in Walla Walla. She moved away for seven years, long enough to meet her husband and bring him back home to Walla Walla to raise their three kids.
She started working part-time at Book & Game, in 1999 and loved it so much that she, along with her brother, Mike Bruns, and father, Gene Bruns, bought the business in 2003.
Jannelle spends her free time reading, running, backpacking and homeschooling her three children.
Dave is a Real Estate Broker with Willams Team Homes in Walla Walla for the past 33 years. He recently became an Oregon Real Estate Broker in 2017.
He was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and served in the U.S. Military for three years with duty station in Germany. He is a past president of the Walla Walla Association of Realtors and is currently a board director.
He met his wife, Renata, at Washington State University and have been married for over 34 years. Renata is an audiologist and has her own private practice. They have four children, two grandchildren with a third due in May of this year.
Dave is a former chairman (8 years) of the Realtor CareNShare food drive, past Boy Scout merit badge leader of Troop 305, former youth baseball, soccer, and basketball coach (over 15 years).
Dave enjoys sports, fishing, hunting, riding horse, and motorcycle rides.
